NC : MURDER ACCUSED GETS 17 YEARS IMPRISONMENT

The Station Commander of Postmasburg, Lt Col Witbooi welcomed 17 years handed down to Ashley Mpetsheni.

This is according to Communication Officer W/O Makoloi


‘Lt Col Witbooi applauded D/Cst Van der Westhuizen for the hardwork,commitment and professionalism she displayed while investigating the murder case.’

‘On 2018-01-13 the deceased, Motse Mooki, was driven over in front of his home after an argument with the accused, Ashley Mpetseni. The accused drove over the foot of the deceased’s sister and also drove over the deceased and fled from the crime scene. A murder case, attempted murder and failure to stop at an accident was opened against the accused and he was arrested. The accused was kept in custody until day of sentencing on 2020-10-28.’

‘Accused was found guilty on all three charges and sentenced to (17) seventeen years imprisonment by Regional Court Magistrate, Mr Wiew, in the Regional court held in Postmasburg.’

The Investigation Officer in this case was D/Cst Christine van der Westhuizen.
