Cigarettes, tobacco and ammunition confiscated at Vioolsdrift border

NORTHERN CAPE – Cigarettes and tobacco worth R35 000.00 were confiscated at the Vioolsdrift border when police searched a vehicle. In a separate incident, ammunition worth R7 350.00 was confiscated at the same border.

The Police and several other relevant role players had a success after searching a vehicle at the Vioolsdrift Border post recently.

The team confiscated 620 packets of cigarettes and 40 packets of tobacco. The total street value of the goods is estimated at about R35 000.

In a separate operation by Nakop Border Police, 50 rifle projectiles valued at R7350 were confiscated.

The police will continue unabated to enforce the new level 3 Lockdown regulations in the country.

The police investigations are continuing continuing in both cases.
